Mechanical Position Counters and Mechanical Indicators
Reliable Mechanical Solutions for Precise Position and Feed Measurement
Mechanical position counters and mechanical position indicators are mechanical position displays designed to accurately measure the position, feed, and movement of linearly or rotationally moving machine components. They are widely used in industrial machinery, CNC systems, vises, and slide mechanisms.
These mechanical counters operate on a ruler-type measurement principle and are selected according to the lead (pitch) of the threaded shaft, which is directly connected to the machine spindle. Thanks to the synchronized mechanism working with the shaft movement, the feed and position of moving parts are displayed clearly, stably, and repeatably in millimeters (mm).
Operating Principle and Readability
In mechanical position indicators, the amount of movement displayed per revolution is determined by the pitch of the threaded shaft used. Measurement values can be read quickly and easily via the numerical display on the mechanical indicator.
For example, when mounted on a vise or machine slide system, the indicator clearly shows how many millimeters the jaw opens or closes with each shaft rotation. This enables more controlled, precise, and error-free manual adjustments.
