SP38 Series Incremental Rotary Shaft Encoders
SP38 series incremental rotary shaft encoders are electromechanical signal generators that produce square-wave (pulse) output signals corresponding to each angular position of the mounted rotating shaft or axle. These incremental encoders can be used together with tachometers for speed measurement, as well as with counters and display systems for counting and position tracking applications.
Encoders are generally classified into two main groups according to their operating principles and application areas: rotary encoders and linear encoders.
For example, an encoder mounted on a motor shaft can detect the motor’s instantaneous position. This information can be used as feedback, enabling precise and accurate motor control.
Incremental encoders are mainly used in the following applications:
